Phlox

Planting

• Phlox will grow in most soils provided they are not too wet and are adequately drained.

• Choose a planting spot in full sun to partial shade. 

• Plant with the top of the crown, base of the fans 1” (3 cm) below soil level and space 16-20” (40-50 cm) apart. 

• The roots should not be showing after planting and water thoroughly.

 

Plantation

• Les Phlox poussent dans tous les sols ni trop humides et bien drainés.

• Choisissez un emplacement en plein soleil ou mi-ombragé.

• Planter la couronne et la base des pousses à 3 cm de profondeur et espacés de 40-50 cm.

• Les racines ne doivent pas apparaitrent après la plantation; arroser copieusement.

 

Growing

• Once actively growing water them two to three times a week, as needed, for best growth.

• Phlox is a bold plant that can be used as a focal point in the middle or back of the garden.

 

Croissance

• Une fois en végétation, arroser deux à trois fois par semaine, plus si besoin, pour de meilleurs resultats.

• Le Phlox est une fleur éclatante, elle peut être utilisée dans un endroit central au milieu ou au fond du jardin.

Taking Care

• Phlox last a long time as cut flowers, making them popular for arrangements and bouquets.

• Phlox attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.

 Winterizing

• Foliage should be cut back in the fall.

• For new plants, provide a winter mulch of evergreen boughs or salt marsh hay after the ground freezes to help prevent heaving.

 

Période hivernale

• Couper le feuillage en automne.

• Pour les jeunes plantes, placer une protection hivernale avec du feuillage persistant une fois le sol gelé, cela empêchera une levée trop hâtive.
